In my own words huh? That doesn't work for me. I can discuss interests here though and give you descriptions that other people have used on me and let you decide from there. Hello. My name is Derek. I'm a writer living in Michigan. I work for an independent video game / film company that is just starting up. I just moved to Michigan from LA in Oct. 09 and haven't had much time to meet people that aren't in the business as well. It is hard for me to describe myself. I guess a good way to start is by telling you a few things about me that for some people could be deal breakers. My view points tend to be very liberal and I am an atheist. I do, however, consider myself to be very tolerant of other people's beliefs regardless of how much they differ from mine. The only time different view points tend to become an issue is when a person becomes preachy. I say believe what you want and let me believe what I want. Also, I have a horrible work schedule, sometimes i go in at 10pm and get out at 6am, and other times i go in at 9am and get out at 4pm, or any where in between.

Hopefully everything I just mentioned did not scare everyone away. When I am not working I like to watch movies and listen to music, and hang out with my friends. If the people are right and the conversation good, I can find myself sitting around talking for hours. I also find myself driving around for hours just to see where I end up.

I have a wry sense of humor, enjoy wit and sarcasm as a form of personal entertainment. Sometimes I swear too much. Hi! I'm a freshman/sophomore college student studying Computer Science (and possibly Mathematics). I'm in love with electronic music and try to go to as many club/live events in that genre as possible! However, I enjoy many different genres like rock, alternative, rap/hiphop, etc. and music is a huge deal to me! I am nice person, I try to look at a person from the inside not out. I recently just moved to Michigan from Alabama to attend The Art Institute of Michigan culinary program, so I'm still new to the state and looking to meet some new people. I love to cook. I feel like cooking relieves my stress. Once I graduate from school I plan on starting my own restaurant business. I haven't got all the details work out yet but I have a lot of ideals in mind. I won't judge a person because of their past I believe the past is the past and I wasn't there and It didn't affect me so why would I judge you for it. I'm a giving person. I hate to see a person I care about sad or in need so if I got it I'll give it to you. I will go without something just to see the person I care about happy. But that can be my weakness also some people in the past I have taken advantage of that and I have paid for it. When it comes to a relationship I'm looking for someone who is confident and know that they want to be with a female and is looking to stay in a relationship, and who has the time to make it work. I'm very loving caring I make sure I'm always there for that person no matter what. I hate to hurt people's feelings If I hurt someone's feelings I'll feel bad for doing it. Most people I have gotten close to always have describe me as being unique, because I don't think like everyone else. Hmm. Well, I enjoy spending time with friends, reading, listening to music, watching tv, playing video games, and everything else I can think of. I've found there's not enough time in the day for me. I hate limits and restrictions and being told not to do something, mostly because I want to be able to decide for myself and I want to understand why I shouldn't do it.
